Are you tired of feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or stuck?
Therapy is a collaborative relationship that can improve your mental health and quality of life. Maybe you want to be happier, stronger, more productive, or a better version of yourself for the people you care about.
I specialize in anxiety, stress (including post-traumatic stress), and burnout. These are common and treatable conditions, but they require a specialized and individualized approach. I use therapies that are backed by research to help you achieve meaningful results and lasting change. I am also committed to therapy that is respectful of your needs, values, and identities. Since therapy is deeply personal, I offer a free initial phone call to see if we're a good fit.
Here is what you can expect from me.
I use talk therapy with an emphasis on the therapeutic relationship, skills, and strategies. I will listen deeply, ask exploratory questions, and support your progress. Here are the three methods I use most frequently:
Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) - CFT is about improving your relationship with yourself and others. Compassion can transform how you relate to pain, suffering, and struggles by developing qualities like inner safety, situational intelligence, kindness, and wisdom. Compassion is important for issues like self-criticism, self-defeating behaviors, and difficult emotions.
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavior Therapies - Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and trauma therapies are great for recovery and resilience in the midst of overwhelm, stress, burnout, and emotional exhaustion. I may suggest techniques like deep breathing, working with your emotions, and challenging your thoughts. I may recommend brief homework assignments to maximize the benefits of therapy in your day-to-day life.
Holistic - Since most problems are complex, we need to understand how your circumstances influence your well-being. There might be social, cultural, or intergenerational issues. Labels are tricky, but identity and culture are relevant in therapy. I am committed to respectful care for all belief systems, lifestyles, abilities, ethnicities, ages, genders, sexual orientations, and spiritualities/religions.
